To learn epidemiology in English, an excellent textbook "Epidemiology: An Introduction" written by Kenneth Rothman will be read. Technical terms are also explained in Japanese, since knowing Japanese terminology is necessary to read epidemiological research papers and reports from MHLW.
Basically each chapter is assinged for one of the participants. The assigned participant must prepare handouts and ditribute them, and explain in English. Other participants also should read the chapter in advance. Additional information is given by Prof. Nakazawa. After that, open discussion will be done among all participants. Questions in the end of each chapter will be solved, if there is enough time.
The lecture is done in the second semester on Thursday, 8:50-10:20 at GSICS 202.
Note: On the last day, the class will continue beyond 10:30 until the end of the text at the simulation room.
Based on handout, presentation and discussion.
