We have investigated the effects on health by the ethnic tension and the rapidly changing health status after the end of the tension by recent 6 years' Tasimboko Project. In addition, we have compared the result with a population in Honiara (the capital city of the Solomon Islands).
However, there is no reliable data to realize the changes with globalization/modernization for the various populations with their own life history in other Provinces. There is no systematic evaluation of such changes from the viewpoint of the residents.
This study aims to fill this lack by the integrative cooperation between cultural, anthropological, and socio-economic fieldworkers in other Provinces and the Tasimboko study group who have studied the Tasimboko people mainly in the field of health science and medicine. It will lead to conclusive "Solomon Islands Project in the 21st Century".
